Chin Implant
Chin aesthetics are performed to provide a younger appearance, achieve a proportional facial structure, and correct congenital problems in the jaw structure.
Chin surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The duration of jaw aesthetics varies between 1.5 hours and 3 hours depending on whether the operation involves a single or double jaw.
At the clinic of Associate Professor Dr. Gürkan KAYABAŞOĞLU, a chin implant tailored to the patient’s needs is placed in the appropriate location and plan on the chin bone through a small incision made under the chin or inside the mouth.
Types of Aesthetic Chin Surgery
Aesthetic chin surgeries are divided into two types based on whether the patient has biting and chewing problems or not:
- Orthodontic treatment (braces)
- Orthognathic surgery (procedure for moving the jaw bones)
Patients who are referred for orthodontic treatment (braces) by dentists but have severe biting and chewing problems cannot be treated with orthodontic treatment alone. These patients require treatment with orthognathic surgery (chin bone movement procedure).
These surgeries are more comprehensive compared to jaw surgeries performed solely for aesthetic reasons, requiring a longer recovery period and collaboration with dentists and orthodontists, but yielding very satisfactory results.
