Facelift
Facelift surgery is the process of lifting the soft tissues of the face that sag downwards and forwards due to the effects of gravity, back to their proper position, which is upwards and backwards.
We can say that facelift surgery is the most transformative surgery among all aesthetic surgeries. Although it is performed more frequently in Turkey in recent years, it used to be perceived as a surgery requested only by celebrities for many years. Compared to 50 years ago, modern life and work have accelerated significantly, people live a more social life compared to the past, working hours have increased, stress factors and sun exposure have increased, and organic nutrition has decreased. As a result, people not only age prematurely but also the average lifespan has increased.
After facelift surgery, intense swelling may occur on your face for the first 3 days, followed by the onset of bruises along with decreasing swelling. Bruises typically disappear within 7-10 days. A mild swelling that can be concealed with makeup may persist for 2-3 weeks. Complications related to surgery include bleeding, inflammation at the incision sites, wound opening, infection, decreased sensation in the skin, and nerve damage.
Facelift surgery is performed at Associate Professor Dr. Gürkan KAYABAŞOĞLU’s clinic in a hospital setting and under general anesthesia. In facelift surgeries, facial tissues are strengthened, sagging tissues are lifted, and excess skin is removed. Facelift surgery involves many details. The cheeks, eye area, eyebrows, nose, forehead, neck, and chin are evaluated as a whole. Depending on the areas to be treated, the surgical operation lasts approximately 4-5 hours.
Midface Lift
In the midface lift procedure, the aim is to lift the part of our face where the cheeks are located upwards. It is usually performed on younger patients, around the age of 40-45, where the jawline is not significantly altered and there is not much sagging or fat accumulation in the neck. These surgeries are performed to make the cheekbones and cheeks more prominent. Typically, no incisions are made on our face; small incisions are made within our hairline, and through these incisions, deep tissues are lifted upwards with the help of cameras. Thus, no visible scars remain after this surgery.
